Candela Cort
Madrid
As light as air, as if flying, has permeated the collections of Candela Cort (Madrid, 1959), a graduate in Fine Arts, since her first exhibition in 1987.
Her works, made in an artisanal manner, combine the modern and the antique, the harmonious and the strident. But above all, Candela Cort's art conveys freedom. She confesses it herself. "I feel free, I don't feel linked to the world of fashion or art. I want my work to go beyond trends or fashion seasons".
"As almost always in my work, my inspiration is based on the materials I am dealing with, their elasticity, their weight or lightness, their flexibility and the fact that they lend themselves to being worked with my hands without the need for many tools."
""The moment I got to know the LZF lamps, I felt connected to my world of headdresses and hats. I immediately imagined my creations as lamps. My collaboration with the LZF team has been effortless and fluid because I feel we speak the same language."
